Tikka sits quietly and stretches to prepare himself. Today's the day. You see, Tikka is not like everyone else in the world. Tikka... well, for lack of a better word, he's… a monkey and right now he's sitting in a tree, looking down at a small Indian village, with one thought in his mind. Murgh Makhani or as most of us know it, Butter Chicken Curry. He wasn't one to eat berries and bananas! No! Tikka is a foodie and one of his main loves is curry. He slowly approaches the bustling village. Today is the day of the great food market. Thousands of tiny stalls with all types of produce were being set up. He creeps slowly, trying his best not to be noticed. He knows that if he's seen, then it's game over for little Tikka. But, as they say, fortune favours the bold! And then, it happens. The aromatic smell of spices fills the air. The curry stall has opened and a man with a long beard starts shouting with a deep voice, "Hello, my friends! Come. Come, get some curry! Freshly made!" Tikka hops from foot to foot and climbs up a nearby stall. He starts nimbly moving closer and then he slowly, using his tail, begins lowering himself above the curry stall. The stall keeper with a big spoon continues to stir a delicious looking butter chicken curry. He turns around, to get a few more spices and then... Tikka strikes! Tikka swings over, grabs the pot with his tiny monkey hands and drops to the ground and runs. He runs so fast, ignoring the burn from the hot pot. He hears the yells of the man chasing behind him, "My curry! Come back with my curry! NO!" But it's too late, Tikka has won and the man's resigned figure dissappears into the distance. With a huge grin on his little face, he runs back towards the forest, finds his little tree that he calls home and starts madly devouring the still hot curry, true happiness in his heart. You see, everyone, Tikka understands something that we (Adam and Candice) completely get! Butter chicken is simply amazing and you gotta do what ever it takes to get some! This may be the last butter chicken curry recipe you need. It has so much flavour and we really think you'll love it! We used a liquid smoke for this recipe, which is optional, and we used two recipes for the Tandoori paste (by Melissa at refashionista) and the curry (by Cat at Homemaderecipes). Both recipes were amended, but they are fantastic in their own right. Obviously, this recipe also goes great with naan! Let's all learn from Tikka and do what ever it takes to get a taste of some delicious butter chicken curry!
